What a cited Papero document looks like
Three short excerpts in three citation styles. Each comes with its reference list and a citation report like the one Papero gives on Plus.
These examples were written by the Papero team to show the format. Every reference is a real paper: follow its DOI to check it.
Psychology literature review
A second-year undergraduate reviewing what is known about sleep and learning.
Sleep after learning helps new memories last. Performance on a newly learned motor skill improves after a night of sleep but not after the same time spent awake (Walker & Stickgold, 2004). Current accounts describe an active process: memories are reactivated during slow-wave sleep and integrated into long-term memory (Diekelmann & Born, 2010; Rasch & Born, 2013). A short nap is enough to double how much students remember (Rasch & Born, 2013).

Computer science background chapter
A master's student introducing large language models in a thesis chapter.
The Transformer replaced recurrence with attention alone and trained faster than earlier translation models [1]. Pre-training a bidirectional Transformer on unlabelled text and then fine-tuning it set new results on eleven language tasks [2]. Scaling a language model to 175 billion parameters let it match fine-tuned models on every benchmark from a few examples alone [3].

Public health essay introduction
A public health student opening an essay on physical activity policy.
Physical inactivity causes an estimated 9% of premature deaths worldwide (Lee et al., 2012). In 2016, more than a quarter of adults (27.5%) did not do enough physical activity to meet the recommended level (Guthold et al., 2018). Women were less active than men in most regions (Guthold et al., 2018).
